چکیده

Abstract The Ozifa reservoir is proven that cuts across the Northern and Greater Ughelli depo-belts of Niger Delta Basin. This possesses heterogenous character southward field, making elastic properties, lithologies fluid types difficult to describe accurately. In this study, rock physics template was applied porosity acoustic impedance (AI) crossplot clusters illustrate rock–fluid relationships using modified Hashin–Shtrikman upper bound, Voigt bound Reuss lower as an input in template. Values were used lithofacies classification parameters for discrimination types. Our result showed line when porosities (φ) domain discriminated gas-filled reservoirs from brine filled shale effectively. Similarly, results clear separation shale, heteroliths with gas bearing sand, which not plausible conventional petrophysical analysis. approach successfully analysing relationship different well locations serves a model successful prediction lithology types, major requirement determining effects geological variables such sorting, clay distributions on connectivity optimum production time-lapse (4D) seismic interpretation.

Evaluation of Geopressure Regime in an Onshore Niger Delta Field of Nigeria

Geopressure evaluation or prediction is an important exercise that must be carefully estimated when planning a drilling campaign. Formations of high pressure regime can be experienced in several areas within the bore hole depths. Being unaware of these areas that experience high pressure regime can create many uncontrolled events such as blow outs that may lead to human and material loss within...

Occurrence and Distribution of Chrysene and its Derivatives in Crude Oils and Source Rock Extracts from Niger Delta, Nigeria

Crude oils and source rocks from the northern and offshore Niger Delta basin, Nigeria, have been characterized by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry in terms of their origin and thermal maturity based on the distribution of chrysene and its derivatives. The crude oils and source rocks were characterized by the dominance of chrysene over benzo[a]anthracene. 3-methylchrysene predominated over o...

Occurrence and Distribution of Pyrene and its Derivatives in Crude Oils and Source Rock Extracts from Niger Delta, Nigeria

Crude oils and source rocks from the Northern and offshore depobelts of the Niger Delta basin, Nigeria have been characterized based on the distribution of pyrene and its derivatives by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Moreover, the crude oils have been characterized by the dominance of pyrene over fluoranthene while fluoranthene generally predominated over pyrene in the rock samples. Also...

Land and Poverty: Some Empirical Findings Using Cross Sectional Data from Niger Delta Region, Nigeria

Poverty is the most serious threat to natural resources and the environment and most of the poor are rural-based who engage in various agricultural activities. Land is a critical asset for the rural poor and lacking means to appropriately intensify agriculture which compels the poor to either overuse or misuse this natural resource base to meet basic needs. This study presents empirical relatio...

An Upper Bound of the Minimal Dispersion via Delta Covers

For a point set of n elements in the d-dimensional unit cube and a class of test sets we are interested in the largest volume of a test set which does not contain any point. For all natural numbers n, d and under the assumption of a δ -cover with cardinality |Γδ | we prove that there is a point set, such that the largest volume of such a test set without any point is bounded by log |Γδ | n + δ ...
